He Wasn’t Joking!
On Friday, April 1, before we headed to New York City for the weekend, Chris suggested we have dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant in his neighborhood (Bravo's) and wait out the traffic.
We had a wonderful meal. Despite the fact that we had a four hour drive ahead of us, Chris insisted on ordering dessert. When the wait staff came with dessert, as a surprise to Amy, they also brought champagne, balloons, and a candle in our profiteroles.
Chris asked Amy to marry him, stating, "On this first day of April, I'd be a fool not to ask you to marry me."
Amy said yes, and we eventually arrived in NYC about 1 a.m.
